Retail Brand Experience Concept

This project explores how the brand’s visual system and products translates into a cohesive retail environment. The goal was to create a sample store to showcase the brand’s lighting solutions without a real-world retail context. The idea was that clients visiting the office would be able to not only see the product in action, but get to ‘shop’ in the merch store for custom curated swag.

Exploration Stage

The early stages consisted of an extensive exploratory phase where I experimented with multiple store design directions within a rendered environment. Each concept explored different ways the brand could live in a physical retail space. I prioritized clarity, consistency, and long-term scalability over novelty. How could we improve this design over time and swap out future lighting products and merch to keep it interesting?

Renders were iterated and refined to assess how typography, materials, spatial layout, and the lighting interacted within the environment.

Final design

The final design direction was selected because it effectively translated the brand’s core identity into a retail experience where it could showcase the lighting as well as the merchandise.

The slat ceiling was chosen to create a more elevated look while still being able to access the lighting from below the ceiling for an easy product swap for the future. The peg board was chosen as a way to easily adjust shelving for new merchandise as it was released.

Branded Merch Design

After the store design was chosen, I needed to design merchandise to fill it. I chose a good mix of products that would both be useful to our clients visiting as well as something they would want to wear to help promote our brand.

The result has impressed our partners, but also helped build even better relationships by gifting.
